Minister “Tina” McClain was born in Los Angeles, California, to Ernest and Nell McClain. When she was six months old, Ernest & Nell decided to return their family to their hometown of Peoria, Illinois. Tina accepted Christ and was baptized when she was 9 years old. It was here that Tina’s love for music and her special gift were discovered.
At 21 Tina’s church gave her the title “Director of Music” with the responsibility of selecting and teaching songs to the choirs, as well as selecting the worship music for Sunday morning. She was responsible for determining and identifying songs that were appropriate and complementary to the sermon that week. The Director of Music was expected to work closely with the Pastor. Tina was the leader of the Praise Team at her church for 20 years. It was during this time that Tina’s life took a spiritual turn. She realized that music was more than a pleasant sound….it was her ministry. This led Tina to actually start studying the Word of God and gain an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tina has always known that there was a calling on her life more than just ministering music. In 2011 she said YES to “the call” and received the “Certificate of License for the Gospel Ministry” at Judah International Ministries in Mackinaw, Ill., under Archbishop Mark Dubois. In 2020 the Lord birthed in her the “WELL” (Women Experiencing Liberation Through Love). A safe place where women of all walks of life can come together and be vulnerable and open about their experiences, struggles, fears, and questions AND experience the LOVE of God that will lead to FREEDOM. Over the years she has ministered in many places and on various and assorted occasions. She now serves on the worship team at Judah Ministries. Tina’s love is ushering people into the presence of God.
In her words: “I don’t do riffs, scats or rolls which at times kept me out of certain areas. I just want to reach the heart of God!! ‘But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my Strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love.’ Psalm 59:16-17 NLT”
